Services are limited to the specific tasks listed on our website or agreed upon in writing. Additional work outside the agreed scope will be billed at the applicable hourly or flat rate.
Services provided do not include legal, financial planning, or investment advice. Clients should consult an attorney or financial advisor for matters outside tax representation or preparation.
Clients agree to:
• Provide complete and accurate information
• Respond promptly to requests for documents
• Review all prepared documents for accuracy
• Maintain copies of all tax records
Failure to provide timely information may delay services or increase fees.
IRS representation requires a signed Form 2848, Power of Attorney. No contact with the IRS will be made on a client's behalf until the form is fully executed and accepted by the IRS. For ongoing representation, retainers may be required.
Quoted fees are estimates based on the information available at the time of engagement. If the scope expands due to additional IRS notices, missing records, or unforeseen issues, fees may be adjusted with client approval.
Professional service fees include the time, expertise, and administrative costs necessary to manage the client’s matter, which may incorporate third-party expenses such as transcript fees, mailing or courier charges, and other case-related costs. When clients request or require expedited handling — including express mailing, same-day processing, or other time-sensitive actions — the applicable rush/after-hours premium rate will apply and be included in the total professional service fees.
Payment is due at the time services are rendered unless otherwise agreed in writing. All invoices not paid within thirty (30) days of the due date established are subject to interest charges to the extent permitted by state law.
All fees paid to Tax Vet LLC are earned upon receipt and are non-refundable once professional services have begun.
All invoices for tax preparation services must be paid in full before Tax Vet LLC will release the final tax return or transmit it to the IRS and/or state tax authority. The client must also sign the applicable Form 8879 authorization prior to e-filing a return. If payment is not received within 5 calendar days prior to the tax return's original due date, Tax Vet LLC will file an extension on the client's behalf that may help delay the assessment of some late filing penalties with the IRS and/or state tax authority. Work will resume and the return will be filed once payment is received. For return preparation services requested within 5 calendar days prior to the tax return's original or extended due date, the applicable rush/after-hours premium rate will apply.
All billing activity from Tax Vet LLC is delivered electronically. If you prefer to receive a paper bill (invoice), please notify us in advance; otherwise, invoices will be sent to the primary email address used for your client communications.
All client information is kept confidential in accordance with IRS Circular 230 and applicable federal and state privacy laws.
While every effort is made to achieve favorable results, no outcome can be guaranteed, including penalty abatement, audit results, or IRS processing timelines.
Tax Vet LLC will return to the client all original records and documents provided by the client upon completion of our services or termination of our engagement. In lieu of this, the client has the right to access and obtain copies of these client-provided records at any time during the course of our services. However, the completed tax return, supporting schedules, and other preparer-generated work products remain the property of Tax Vet LLC and will not be released to the client until all invoices related to these services are paid in full.
Per IRS Circular 230, copies of client documents will be retained for a minimum of three years. After that period, files may be securely destroyed.
